The Creature from Jekyll Island
We were one of the ones fortunate enough to attend a two part special event hosted by RandomWalkTrading,
Titled 50/50 & liquid.
I felt like the second my feet hit the ground I was running, due to the time change, delayed flights, and a few positions I already had on,- I actually think I saw much more of the Maui Moon, then Sun.
Right away you can see this wasn't the typical group of wannabes looking for free swag, or hot stock tips. We were all devoted.
The questions were intelligent, free flowing, and interactive. A lot of good friendships, and discussions have already formed from the short interaction with the other attendees.
I have no problem asking as many questions as I could think of.
I want to get the most out of situations like these, and have no problem looking foolish in a class room, and a genius, or in my case *less foolish* in my account. (Wishful thinking on my part here) you really get out what you put in.
There is a extreme value in getting together with traders and discussing the school of "what is working NOW!"
I don't want to comment on their proprietary material, first because people paid good money for it, and Second because I haven't read mine yet. (It's still in plastic wrap)
And Third because I respect them like family.
But I will comment on them really doing a good job in creating an environment that spurs intelligent thought, I have unfortunately watched others really struggle when you get them to color outside the lines.
The sick part of me actually enjoys making an instructor squirm, which might be while I haven't gone to anything like this in a long time- and the last seminar I attended I was actually kicked out for asking a question. (Cough *optionetics* Cough) yes I wear that as a badge of Courage, and -Victory. I hate to see education company's leverage in on peoples hopes and dreams for their benefit.
Them: "You simply buy a call, and buy a put before earnings and its a win- win, you can make money either way!"
(I actually remember hearing its a no brainer somewhere in the presentation)
ME: Doesn't everyone on the floor also know about this event, and thus making you pay for it as its highest price (pre-catalyst), and then forced to attempt to try to sell it at its lowest (post-catalyst) ?
Them: "GET out of here!"
ME: "With pleasure"
While I won't share their material, I can show you something small I executed from my iPhone walking from my hotel room to the lobby pre class.
